We’d like to invite you on a journey through the ‘zoeppritz since 1828’ universe, and there’s a reason for that;
On this day 92 years ago, July 8th 1928 to be more exact, the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin was launched and that plays a major role in our heritage. Back then, we were the exclusive outfitter for the famous Graf Zeppelin, an airship that made Pan American, Polar, Orient and world voyages.
The first intercontinental flight from Friedrichshafen to America gave fame not only to the airship,but ‘Zoeppritz since 1828’ made a name for itself too. In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the LZ 127 was caught in the middle of a storm tearing a hole into the fabric covering the frame of the airship. Quick thinking passengers and crew used the ‘zoeppritz since 1828‘ blankets that they sewed together to close the hole, allowing everyone to arrive safely at their destination. Even though the journey through our textile landscapes is definitely safer than the zeppelin’s turbulent journey, it’s just as exciting. There is a lot to discover!
